War Machine Review

No, it’s not a film about Rhodey set after Endgame.

What this is…well imagine someone took Metal Gear Rex, ED-209, and a Predator, and mushed it all up with some standard military ooh rah. Then threw in Alan Ritchson as a more thoughtful Dutch who is dealing with some shit.

The latest release from Netflix, War Machine is exactly what you think it might be, so don’t be surprised. If you’re looking for some bombast and some surprisingly good VFX, then you’re in luck. Just don’t expect anything less than a completely obvious story that hits every possible beat you think it might. Ritchson plays it all dead straight, until the one thing the film does do wrong.

The one liners are terrible. But I’ve just been playing as Leon S Kennedy for thirty hours so maybe my standard is set too high.

Don’t worry yourself about it. Enjoy it for what it is and appreciate that they don’t even try to hide that they want to make more. Does make me want an MGS film though.
