The Rip Review

To hold a year’s wages in your hand. What would you do?

I wonder what several year’s would do. It would cross your mind to take some wouldn’t it? Come on, you would wouldn’t you. You might not act on it. But you’d think about it. And you’d know that everyone else was thinking the same thing. And that makes things tricky. Trust comes into question.

That, and the obviously great chemistry between Affleck and Damon, are what makes The Rip at all interesting. Let’s be honest, this isn’t a stand out. It’s a perfectly fine thriller that is elevated by its leads. Everyone else does good work, and it’s good to see Scott Adkins.

But it’s also quite silly. Stepping out alone in to areas you know are dangerous for instance.

The best thing is that at various points I suspected everyone! Granted I’m not the best at seeing how things plays out, but it was nice to be kept on my toes.

This sort of film would have come out in the cinema to a moderate opening weekend due to it’s cast, and then disappeared. It being on Netflix meant I gave it a go. Some things do suit being on a streamers. At this one is watchable.
