Wish Review

I wish this film was better.

There. Review done.

Alright alright. It’s just extremely flat, and I’m not talking about the hybrid 2D/3D animation. As a very light and perhaps even comforting story that ticks plenty of the standard Disney boxes, it’s fine. It just doesn’t do much, and I’ll barely remember it moving forward. The songs are forgettable calls to action, and whilst Tudyk is always good value, nothing else sticks. Chris Pine gives it a good go I guess.

Filling your credits with images of beloved characters from previous films may be a nice bit of nostalgia but it’s also pointing out how none of these new characters will last in the same way. Little ones should still find this entertaining, but this is not what I’d expect from a celebration of one hundred years of Disney.
