Being predictable is generally a bad thing for a film. Knowing what is going to happen ahead of time can dilute the experience and take the edge of any emotional pay-off. Unless it’s a really well executed story.
Warrior is well executed.
Bane vs Uncle Owen is an emotionally fraught film, with great performances from Hardy, Edgerton and Nolte. If you don’t like mumbling you are going to struggle, with Hardy and Nolte offering plenty of it. That’s not to say it isn’t good, appropriate mumbling though.
As someone who has never really watched UFC or any real MMA fighting, all I can say is that I thought the fights looked great. They had a visceral edge to them, as I winced throughout!
Not an easy watch, but a worthwhile one.
