TMNT/Ghostbusters #3 Review

This is more like it.

With Donnie firmly ensconced with the Ghostbusters now this series kicks on with more fan pleasing dialogue and a story that is nearing a crescendo.

The budding relationships are very enjoyable to read, with the story giving us quite a few Ghostbuster/TMNT combo so far. Each gives us more insight into how the two groups work. Peter for instance seem bothered that Leo is the de-facto leader, whereas the busters seem to share that duty more amongst themselves. So I’ve enjoyed it, but there’s one guy I do not like at all in this series. It seems that Raphael is being used to counter the science love in by being a complete and utter dick. I don’t appreciate his impatience and rashness…and I sound like Leonardo.

One of the main things I liked about this issue is seeing a rookie using a proton pack for the first time. However unlike Louis Tully in GB2 Donnie is clued up and useful! He isn’t wearing ear muffs either so it’s a touch cooler. Being coached through his first use is pretty damn nifty. Ray and Egon in particular have taken are obviously taking a shine to him and they guide him nicely. Not that I’m jealous or anything…

Chi-You must be being written well, because I really want to see him get smacked up! Fortunately it won’t be long until we get the final issue. The problem with a story that takes place in-between issues is that you already know the outcome. But that hasn’t stopped me becoming invested in the story. Kudos to the guys at IDW!
