The Taking of Pelham 123 Review

With an almost comatose Washington appearing to phone it in, and Travolta seemingly thinking that adding the word ‘Motherf*****’ to ever sentence will make him menacing (hint, it doesn’t work), Tony Scott’s The Taking of Pelham 123 is a dud.

Starting off I thought it might be a slow burner with a tense battle of wits. Wrong! The dull beginning only gives way to a ridiculously excitable final third. Of course violence was needed. If it wasn’t for the cast involved this could have been straight to DVD.

This remake should never have left the station.
