The Grand Budapest Hotel Review

My first Wes Anderson film! Seems I picked a corker.

The Grand Budapest Hotel is a quirky and whimsical tale with surprising amounts of melancholy, punching and profanity.

Fiennes’ Gustave is a truly memorable character, his double act with Tony Revolri’s Zero proving a joy to watch as they gallivant around the fictional Republic of Zubrowka to clear the accusations of murder levelled at him.

I like to read up on the films after I’ve watched them. This provided me with perhaps the most fitting word – Zany. A host of weird ingredients make up this film, but Anderson mixes and bakes them perfectly.
