The DUFF is cliché ridden and obvious. But I don’t care!
When a film is this well cast and charming it’s easy to overlook what could be huge problems.
Whitman and Amell possess an easy going and funny chemistry that makes the most of the script. Without them it wouldn’t have mattered how well written and paced it was. They’re backed up by some great bit parts, especially Ken Jeong.
I don’t watch Rom-Coms or Teen movies often but when they’re well written I get really involved. The DUFF deserves to be mentioned alongside Mean Girls as a great example.
