Pegg and Frost but no Wright. I had no appetite to see a film of theirs that didn’t contain a Cornetto.
That was silly of me.
Seth Rogen isn’t exactly stretching himself but he does imbue Paul with warmth and friendlines, despite his amusing crudeness.
If you’re well-versed in Spielberg films then you are in for a treat. Paul is peppered with references and a nice explanation for why Paul looks so familiar.
It might not hold up to repeat viewings in the same way as Hot Fuzz but Paul is a very pleasant surprise and well worth a watch.
