Looking back at my review for the first film, the marketing was quite misleading. This time around however it’s all a bit more superficial. XXL might not have as strong a story, in fact it’s pretty damn cliched, but it is very funny.
There’s a lot of ‘bro humour’, which should tell you all you need to know really. I loved it but plenty won’t.
Finally, the dancing. Completely straight-faced, I’m going to tell you that the dances are very impressive. Once again I’m left feeling a touch inadequate but the film is entertaining enough that I can forgive it.
