The original Living Dead trilogy are classics but gore aside they’ve never been well made, with the cast usually indicating the low budget.
Land of the Dead doesn’t suffer from that (Dennis Hopper!) as Romero uses the apocalypse to show us the divide between the rich and poor. Sadly the powerful only being interested in maintaining their power is all too true, but at least they pay for it.
With the decisions they make plenty of these humans deserve to die, but ‘Land’ is easily one of the better zombie films out there. Good gore, good actors and clever zombies.
