High-Rise looked extremely interesting as a trailer. As a two hour film however I found it lacklustre and surprisingly dull.
Hiddleston’s underdeveloped character is intense but hollow. Perhaps his ghost-like movement through the story leaving me with no one to root for is the point. Are my expectations of what the story should include letting me down?
Regardless, the film dragged terribly in places and could have done with trimming down. Only the fantastic cast prevent it from being a complete drag.
A very interesting idea that gets lost in a series of overly indulgent images, High-Rise ultimately proved perplexing.

Fucking hell, do you have no soul?
I’m not sure what having a soul has to do with a film. But I guess not 😉
