100 Word Review – Ghost in the Shell

Ghost in the Shell

Apart from Scarlett Johansson not moving her elbows, Ghost in the Shell is a fantastic looking film, in a ‘the future imagined in the 80s’ way. Technically I can’t fault it; everyone is decent in their role, and it doesn’t outstay it’s welcome.

Thing is, I’ve heard it all before. I’ve seen Ex Machina and Robocop, and they both pulled it off in a much more interesting way. Then there’s the line that reminds me of Christian Bale’s Batman.

It’s all absolutely fine. I didn’t waste my time but I don’t feel enriched either. GitS (snigger) just sort of happened.
