This isn’t a film. It’s content. And it’s not very good content.
I mean, my goodness. What a ridiculous, and frankly dull, hodgepodge of tropes and characters ripped off from everything from Die Hard to Jurassic Park.
As it ticked along through plot points that even I could see, I was left to wonder. Who are the real hostages here? Antony Starr? Perhaps it’s part of his deal with Amazon and being Homelander? Hmmm, no, I’m sure he’s been handsomely paid. Viola Davis? Nope, she’s a producer! This is partly her fault.
No, the only hostage is me and my inability to stop watching a film once I’ve started. Damn it.
There’s an idea that a lot of streaming content is created knowing that the audience isn’t paying full attention. G20 was probably made for 50% of mine, and it didn’t even get that in the end.
