It’s got a good soundtrack, and Shia LeBeouf plays video games like a real boy would. I could tell you that this is a poor man’s Rear Window.
Rather than try to sound clever though, I’ll admit I haven’t seen that film and I’ll just tell you that Disturbia starts off very strongly but soon peters out. The tension begins to build but reaches a crescendo far too quickly; the story isn’t allowed to ratchet up.
The film feels like it’s in a rush to finish, resulting in a jarring change of pace.
Better than expected but a missed opportunity.
