There were three reasons I watched this film.
It’s under one-hundred minutes long. Ben Affleck. Samuel L. Jackson.
They’re also the three reasons I liked this film.
You could watch Changing Lanes and write it off as preposterous. The increasing lengths that these two wronged men go to quickly escalate into the ridiculous. The poster says “one wrong turn deserves another”, and it’s not joking. All in one day too. I get that point of view. But I think that’s missing what its going for.
Affleck and Jackson are both pretty much what you expect them to be. They’re well cast. Their actions aren’t the focus; they’re a vehicle for looking at karma, how one day can make or break you, and how hard it can be to do the right thing. How much is needed to tip you over when your day has already started badly.
It’s a simple idea, taken to extremes to make it’s point. Pretty interesting.
