This book adaptation may not be taxing for Liam Neeson but it makes for a welcome change of pace. The ‘geriaction’ star is right at home as a gumshoe in this nicely noir-ish story of murder and redemption.
Dan Stevens does another strong American accent but is hardly used. Meanwhile the villains of the peace are suitably deranged and softly spoken. It’s a bit long and Neeson’s accent is a bit flaky (is he trying one?) but this is a solid and intriguing film. It sure makes for a good palette cleanser after the risible Taken 3.
