A Good Day to Die Hard Review

I’d heard the general derision of the latest Die Hard film, but it couldn’t be that bad could it?

Sadly it is. It’s odd how it’s ended up this way too. The preceding three films didn’t start as Die Hard stories. But this one did, and is by far the least Die Hard feeling

Apparently Bruce Willis had a lot of input. So perhaps we can partly blame him for the cardboard cutouts masquerading as characters. All the wit and characterisation of the first few films has been utterly scrubbed away, and in it’s place we have a half asleep Willis portraying a now borderline racist jerk-off McClane.

Looking at the credits of the Director (Max Payne), and the Writer (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, tells you plenty.

There isn’t even a convincing bad-guy, which for a franchise that contains one of the best villains ever is a real shame.

This really isn’t a good day for the franchise. Let it die.
