Humans are capable of such wonderful things. Some pretty damn atrocious things too. Set amidst the space race between the U.S. and Russia, Hidden Figures focuses on three women who battle sexism and racism in an extremely interesting and often very humorous story.
Henson, Spencer, and Monáe are superb, displaying a power and belief that has you willing them forward.
Rather than an age rating, this should be slapped with a sass warning. There’s plenty of it, and it’s brilliant!
Jim Parsons’ familiarity is distracting due to too many repeats of The Big Bang Theory. I know he’s not Sheldon, and I know he’s not puling that schtick again, but I can’t help it! Costner fairs better, bringing a suitable level of understatement and gravitas to his role.
This story is important. Everyone should be aware of it. Fortunately it’s a very well told, and well worth your time.
