Warfare made for a very intense watch.
Confusing. Disorientating. Frustrating. Unsettling.
A real win in terms of sound design and setting. And in how it frames individual moments of silence and complete disarray as the soldiers under attack struggle to comprehend what’s going on.
We naturally want to support the troops we see. They are nominally the good guys. But the first thing they do is takeover a house and shove a terrified family into a room. I spent a lot of the film rooting for the boys whilst constantly questioning if they should be there at all. Which I guess is the point of a moment set in the Iraq War.
