The Avengers Review

Ignoring it’s stupid UK title, The Avengers is an awesome piece of entertainment and a wet dream for comic book lovers. Bringing together the characters from the five Marvel films released so far, this entry sees Thor’s Brother Loki attempt to subjugate Earth with the assistance of the Chitauri and shows us the response formulated by Nick Fury.

It’s a lot funnier than I expected, and at times more emotional. If you haven’t seen the other films I suggest you do, as without them you will think it’s all show and no go. Though there is some character development, that is really left to the solo films.

Everyone brings their A-Game (no pun intended), but the real stand out for me was Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. He is the first actor to play the role via motion capture, and this really shows. The films ends with a teaser of what is come in ‘Phase 2’ of the Marvel Cinematic Universe which should whet appetites. I for one can’t wait.
