100 Word Review – Kingsman: The Secret Service

Matthew Vaughn has created a ludicrously brilliant world full of self-aware spies, chavs and villains, providing a unique counterpoint to the current Bonds, Bournes and Bauers.

With bespoke suits, an explanation of broguing, and a stiff upper lip it appeals to my inner gentleman. To balance that the crude language, attitude and laughably OTT violence caters to my more uncouth side.

It’s so joyfully cathartic that I now have no urge at all to shoot, dismember or impale people. With a couple of jarringly misogynistic moments mixed in it’s not for the easily offended, but great fun for everyone else.
