Brave is an enjoyable enough film; seemingly more in line with Disney entries such as Bolt, but still another decent Pixar entry.
The animation is superb and the voice cast are perfectly suited. It’s refreshing to have Scottish characters too, as opposed to the usual American accents. The lack of a definite villain is a nice surprise as the film takes quite a different turn from what has been presented in the trailers.
Those expecting the usual ground breaking fare from Pixar will be disappointed. But those going in with an open mind and looking for light entertainment won’t be.
As with other Pixar films, there is an animated short beforehand. La Luna is a extremely sweet and touching story of a young boy finding his place in the family. Innocent and sweet, it’s a lovely piece.
